At Amaroo, we strive to enhance people’s lives by genuinely caring. We want our residents to feel that they are part of a bigger family where they are supported and empowered to live their life as they please.
Our person-centred approach to care is founded on the belief that every person is a valued individual in their own right, worthy of respect and deserving of a life lived to the fullest. With this in mind, we tailor care plans to cater to the needs of the individual, respecting personal choices and preferences as much as we can.
We want our residents to be assured that Amaroo will be their home for as long as they want. Through our ageing in place philosophy, we cater for the needs of people requiring low level care, through to high care needs and palliative care. We also offer respite care to allow carers to take a short break from their care responsibilities.
Our residents can also be assured that help is always on hand, with nursing staff, including a Registered Nurse as well as Assistants in Nursing, being available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
At Amaroo, we offer the following types of care:
Low Level Care
Our low care service provides assistance with personal care, meals, cleaning, laundry, administration of medications, and access to health care services, as well as a range of activities to enhance quality of life. Residents are encouraged to maintain their independence; we are here to help as required.
High Level Care
Our high care service provides increased assistance with personal care, such as bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting. We also assist with meals, cleaning, laundry, administration of medications, rehabilitation support, and access to health care services, as well as providing a range of activities to enhance quality of life. Personal services may be the same as low care, but with more emphasis on nursing care for people with greater needs.
Our palliative care service focusses on relieving and preventing the suffering of people nearing the end of life. We focus on physical, emotional, spiritual and social aspects that arise for the person in care, and provide support to the family at this delicate time.
Our respite care service offers family and carers the opportunity to take a break from their care responsibilities. They can rest assured that their loved one is being well cared for in a safe and nurturing environment.
Our Admissions Officer would be more than happy to discuss the care services that would best suit your or your loved ones’ needs. Please call Michelle on 02 4943 3675 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday.
